North Somerset District Councillor for 8 years

Currently serving on:

1. Community and Corporate Organisation Policy and Scrutiny Panel – CHAIRMAN finance/budget control, Parks & Open Spaces incorporating: Waste, Recycling, Asset Management, Performance Monitoring, Street Cleaning, Street Lighting, Debt Collection, Localism, Management and Staffing Levels, CCTV, Community Safety (Police liaison) and related issues.
2. Planning & Regulatory Committee – dealing with planning applications, site visits, planning strategy and policy and advice.
3. IT Communications Review Board – performance monitoring of council and councillor IT support, overseeing the transitional move to a largely paperless council.
4. West of England Scrutiny Committee – scrutinising 4 unitary councils: Bristol City, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucester Councils’ linked activity including Regional Transport Schemes, Waste & Recycling, major Highways’ Schemes, Employment, Planning and Development.
5. Overall Group Chairman of 5 NSC Scrutiny & Policy Panel Chairmen & Vice Chairmen co-ordinating progress and reporting to the Council Leader and full Council.
6. Portishead Youth Centre – TRUSTEE & DIRECTOR
