Portishead Town Councillor for 16 years

1. CHAIRMAN FINANCE, STAFFING & GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE – responsible for recruitment, continuous review, training and performance, welfare and well-being of Town Council employees. Chairing a committee comprising The Clerk, Council Chairman, Chairman of Planning, Chairman of Rec & Works and one other councillor to oversee the financial operation of the Town Council.
2. CITIZENS’ ADVICE BUREAU –Trustee & Director for 14 years supporting residents of Portishead with a free weekly advice service
3. PLANNING COMMITTEE – I am a member of the local Planning Committee which meets at the Folk Hall every month. Although the local planning committee has no planning application decision-making power, it is considered to be an important sounding board for local opinion. The committee’s views and recommendations are passed on to the Planning Authority and taken in to consideration by planning officers and NS Committee members in the decision-making process.
